Lorna joined The Consulting Room team in May 2003 with a broad background in database management and marketing, having worked in both the FMCG and grocery retail sales data and healthcare industries, since graduating from the University of Wales, European Business Management School in 1998.
She has editorial responsibility for www.consultingroom.com and provides valued industry research reports, press releases, marketing support and day to day input across the range of activities of The Consulting Room. She is also responsible for our social networking strategy, press liaison and online blog.
Having attended UK & European conferences featuring presentations from key opinion leaders and global experts in the aesthetic field, Lorna has been able to expand her knowledge and understanding of the industry and is able to disseminate the information regarding surgical and non-surgical cosmetic treatments at both a technical and layperson level.
Lorna has become an industry commentator on a number of different areas related to the aesthetic industry, collating and evaluating statistics and writing feature articles and reports for The Consulting Room and its members. She also liaises with the media and has featured in various consumer and trade publications, including having articles published in Aesthetic Medicine, Aesthetic Dentistry Today, Cosmetic News, Journal of Aesthetic Nursing, PMFA News and Body Language industry magazines, as well as producing the content for The Definitive Guide to Cosmetic Treatments for the 2005 & 2006 Body Beautiful Show, and providing content for cosmetic surgery and dermatology supplements featured in The Times and The Independent on Sunday. Lorna produces the in-house quarterly industry magazine for Consulting Room, as well as weekly e-news bulletins to keep everyone up to date on industry developments.
More recently she has been asked to speak at various events including business workshops for the BACN, Merz Aesthetics and our own Smart Ideas Seminars, as well as larger events such as the FACE conference, Olympia Beauty and CCR Expo.
She is on the Clinical Editorial Board for Aesthetic Medicine magazine and the Expert Advisory Board for Save Face, the voluntary accreditation scheme for non-surgical cosmetic treatment providers.
Lorna was awarded the 'Journalist of the Year' award at the MyFaceMyBody Awards 2014.
She lives in Bath with her husband and two sons. Her passions outside of the aesthetic industry include watching Formula 1 motor racing, travelling, watching endless cookery programmes, and baking at EVERY opportunity. Meeting the chef, Marco Pierre White recently was one of the highlights of her year!
